Being a wordsmith, I wasn’t convinced there was something I could be taught about story-telling. Boy! Was I wrong. But the good news is the entertaining format of Gerry’s presentation and the narrative “how to” materials were excellent. Thank you, I know my presentations will improve as a result.

I test drove over half-a-dozen elevator pitches and discovered the key to making mine memorable. It's not what most communications pro's think. Networking is one of three keys for growing my business. By law I am not allowed to advertise, so I need to make my one-on-one communications the best they can be. So I researched and tried out methods taught by 4 different consultants that specialize in pitching to investors. I practiced and tried approaches from 3 different books and a CD workshop. Guess what? Even though I have a compelling product and a unique approach, the message just didn't seem to stick. Then I attended a workshop by Gerry Lantz and learned about Success StoryTM. At first I was skeptical. I remember commenting to my wife later that night that I "wasted a whole evening" because I didn't think I could use the material. But I did the experiment. I threw out my elevator pitch and wrote a Success StoryTM. And the results were amazing. After my very first networking event with Success StoryTM, I had two prospective investors ask me for a meeting. I am convinced that sharing my message in the form of a story is the only way to go. Success StoryTM taught me a wonderful lesson. The Way I communicate is more important that it's Weight.
